A security cabin is a compact building selected around the visibility and working needs of entrance-control personnel. Doors, windows and desks should be considered together with pedestrian approaches, vehicle direction and control equipment. A single-person post needs a different arrangement from a workstation accommodating visitors and several devices. The floor-area options provide a starting point for understanding these differences and planning appropriate equipment.
Glazing needed for surveillance should be balanced against solar exposure and screen positions. The power and data requirements of monitors, radios, computers and access-control devices should be stated before production.
